The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazama changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. LePew looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
LePew tries to get back to half guard but can't.
LePew is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
LePew is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
LePew tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kazama wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
LePew is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
LePew tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kazama paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kazama throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
LePew lands with an overhand left.
Kazama swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
LePew rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kazama moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
LePew gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kazama prevents LePew from getting back to his feet.
LePew looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kazama puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Kazama counters with a shoot takedown. LePew fights it but they end up in guard.

Kazama wants to control from the top but LePew keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
LePew seems to be working for a kimura but Kazama defends the submission attempt.
LePew is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kazama defends it well.
LePew is thwarting Kazama's attempts to control the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kazama looks to land a combination but LePew avoids it well.

LePew takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
LePew tries to bum rush Kazama with a series of wild strikes but Kazama uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Kazama counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kazama shoots in but LePew avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kazama closes the distance and clinches up with LePew, looking for a takedown. Kazama pushes LePew against the cage but LePew circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

LePew moves out of range as Kazama strikes.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
LePew misses with a two punch combination.
LePew has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kazama finds it's way round the side to connect with LePew's head.
Kazama lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but LePew circles away quickly and effectively.
A head kick misses from LePew.
Kazama shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. LePew is trying to defend but Kazama finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are battling for position here. LePew manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
LePew pushes a forearm under Kazama's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Kazama is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
