Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lance Partridge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charles Murphy! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Partridge. No joy for Murphy on that attempt. Partridge misses with a wild body shot. Partridge closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Murphy did well to prevent Partridge getting side control. Murphy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Murphy actively working from the bottom here. Partridge works his foot free and advances to mount. Murphy is in all sorts of trouble here.
Partridge tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Partridge is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Murphy is surviving well by controlling Partridge's body position as best he can. Murphy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Partridge looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Partridge looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Murphy is trying desperately to improve position. Partridge blocks Murphy's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Partridge controlling the position easily from mount. Murphy is looking to improve his position but Partridge isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murphy reaches up and pulls Partridge towards him, trying to control the position. Partridge manages to get a guillotine from the mount though! This could be big trouble for Murphy! Murphy tries to roll over - now Partridge is on the bottom but the guillotine is really deep and Murphy has to tap out! Great work there by Partridge!
