Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Flipper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Freddy Samson! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Flipper.
Flipper looks to land a right hand but Samson moved out of range. Samson scores with a head kick.
Samson throws a one two combo.
Flipper slips a jab from Samson. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Samson. Samson misses with a wild combination.
Samson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Flipper scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Freddy Samson has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Samson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Flipper circles away. Flipper slips a straight right by Samson. Samson closes the distance and clinches. Flipper has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Samson throws a punch but it's blocked by Flipper. Flipper breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. No joy there for Flipper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Flipper stuns Samson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Samson looks gassed! Flipper misses with a two punch combination.
Samson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Flipper counters with a left and a right... And another left! Samson is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Flipper!
