Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maxime Bergeron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tupac Saulnier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tupac Saulnier has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Maxime Bergeron's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maxime Bergeron! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tupac Saulnier! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bergeron feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Saulnier will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Saulnier is striking from the bottom but Bergeron uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Bergeron tries to pass the half guard into mount. Saulnier knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Bergeron prevents Saulnier from improving his position. Saulnier tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Saulnier tries to get to full guard but Bergeron has control of the leg. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Bergeron content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saulnier misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Saulnier tries a head kick but it misses.
Saulnier wants to clinch. Bergeron shoots in and drives through. Saulnier sprawls well. Bergeron is breathing heavily.

Saulnier throws a sloppy head kick and Bergeron counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Saulnier! Saulnier is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Saulnier's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Saulnier is looking to get to half guard. Bergeron controlling the pace for now. Saulnier keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Saulnier tries to reverse the position but Bergeron maintains control. Bergeron lands a nice shot to the head. Bergeron prevents Saulnier from getting the reversal. Saulnier manages to regain half guard. Good work. Bergeron trying to control from half guard but Saulnier is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Saulnier works his way to full guard. Good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bergeron slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Bergeron has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Saulnier is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Maxime Bergeron dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
A punch lands to the side of Bergeron 's head but he takes it in his stride. Bergeron with a lazy takedown attempt and Saulnier cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bergeron shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Saulnier makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Saulnier lands with an overhand left. Saulnier throws a big shot that misses. Bergeron closes the distance and clinches up with Saulnier, looking for a takedown. Bergeron pushes Saulnier against the cage but Saulnier circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maxime Bergeron. That's going to take a lot out of him. A jab from Saulnier misses. Maxime Bergeron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Saulnier misses the shot to the body. Bergeron drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bergeron content to stall in guard here. Saulnier is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Bergeron has his hands clasped together around Saulnier's back. He's all about the action. Bergeron trying to control from the bottom.

Bergeron has hold of Saulnier's hands but Saulnier slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Bergeron tries to roll over but Saulnier keeps him under control. Saulnier thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Saulnier is working for a submission of some sort.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Saulnier throws a shot from downtown. Bergeron moves away and avoids it. Bergeron has his takedown stuffed and Saulnier counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bergeron shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bergeron was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Bergeron controlling the pace for now. Bergeron prevents Saulnier from getting the reversal. Bergeron controlling his opponent. Bergeron with a couple of short strikes. Bergeron is stalling here but it's allowed Saulnier to get half guard.
