Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ted Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the ring accompanied by Chocolate Rain- Tay Zonday. Ted Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ted Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Jones! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a looping overhand right but Jones ducks down to avoid it. Jones slips under a jab from Johnson. Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Johnson against the ropes but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jones is looking to clinch but Johnson is avoiding it.
Johnson throws a big shot that misses. Johnson misses with a double jab.
Johnson scores with a decent looking hook. Johnson throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot. Ted Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson keeps the fight on the outside. Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones looking to throw knees to the head but Johnson is blocking nicely.

Jones drives through with a takedown into guard. Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Johnson is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it. Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position. Johnson is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control. Jones creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Johnson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it. Jones is trying to get an arm triangle but Johnson is defending well. Johnson is breathing heavily. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jones stands up and we're back to a striking position. Johnson jabs Jones right on the nose. Jones blinks but takes it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Johnson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ted Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Jones. Johnson throws a hook but Jones blocks it. Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away. Nice defenses there by Jones. Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat. The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Johnson misses with an uppercut. Jones saw that one coming. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Johnson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it. Johnson misses with a looping right. Jones tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance. Nice defenses there by Jones. Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Johnson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Johnson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Jones dominated that round. That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Johnson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Johnson throws a solid leg kick but Jones takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Johnson. Johnson misses with a wild body shot. Johnson thows a left - swing and a miss! Johnson throws a body punch but Jones moves out of range. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily. Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Jones has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jones there as he acknowledges the shot. Johnson takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses. Nice straight punches there by Johnson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Johnson. Johnson throws a big shot that misses. Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.

Jones working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Jones jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Johnson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Johnson and Jones has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jones trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ted Johnson's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johnson throws a jab when Jones was well out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet. Johnson throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it. Jones shoots in but no luck this time. Johnson misses with a double jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson thows a left - swing and a miss! Johnson throws a chopping leg kick but Jones manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Johnson misses the shot to the body. Jones is looking to clinch but Johnson is avoiding it.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off. Johnson blocks a head kick by Jones.
Johnson misses with a straight left. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jones has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.
Jones is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Johnson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jones regains guard.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Paul Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Johnson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ted Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones trying to control the position.
