Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chester Wing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gustavo Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro tries to clinch up but Wing circles away and keeps his distance.
Chester Wing seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wing loads up on a big right hand but Ribeiro slips the punch.
A slapping body kick lands there for Wing.
Wing throws a leg kick but Ribeiro checks it.
Wing throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wing misses with a looping left.
A head kick from Ribeiro lands but Wing takes it in his stride.
Wing circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ribeiro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ribeiro fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wing avoids it really well and circles away.
Ribeiro ducks under a wild hook from Wing.

Ribeiro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ribeiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wing swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ribeiro slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ribeiro wants to pass the guard but Wing is keeping the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Ribeiro trying to control but Wing is working from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ribeiro uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wing.

Wing throws a sloppy head kick and Ribeiro moves out of range easily.
Wing will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ribeiro fails with a takedown attempt.
Chester Wing has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Ribeiro.

Wing stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wing wants it to stay on the feet.
Wing throws out a loose jab but Ribeiro uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ribeiro throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wing was covering up waiting for the punch and Ribeiro finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ribeiro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wing throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Wing is trying to control the position but Ribeiro postures up.
Ribeiro wants to control from the top but Wing keeps moving.
Wing looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Wing throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ribeiro is looking to clinch.

Ribeiro scores a takedown into full mount!

Ribeiro jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Wing is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Wing and Ribeiro has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gustavo Ribeiro dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ribeiro lands with a kick to the temple. Wing shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Wing cracks Ribeiro with a good jab.
Wing throws a shot from downtown. Ribeiro moves away and avoids it.
Wing wants to land a leg kick but Ribeiro is out of range.
Ribeiro throws a body kick that misses.
Wing changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Ribeiro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wing paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Ribeiro has a takedown stuffed.
Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wing as he jumps to the side.
Chester Wing has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Ribeiro.
A head kick from Wing lands but Ribeiro takes it in his stride.
Ribeiro on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Ribeiro is breathing heavily.
Ribeiro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wing pinned against the cage. Wing gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd cheers as Wing lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ribeiro doesn't seem phased though.

Wing missing with a left hand there. Ribeiro was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ribeiro moves out of range as Wing strikes.
Ribeiro shoots for a takedown but Wing saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Chester Wing is winning the standup battle so far.
A lazy body kick from Wing

and Ribeiro counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ribeiro.
Wing is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Wing is keen to just control but Ribeiro is a slippery customer.
Ribeiro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wing is working away from the top position though.

Wing lands a nice shot to the head.

Wing throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Wing is landing with some decent strikes but Ribeiro is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Wing is keen to just control but Ribeiro is a slippery customer.
Ribeiro is looking to improve his position.
Ribeiro trying to hold on to Wing's head to control him but Wing postures up.
Wing content to control rather than advance.
Wing wants to take a breather but Ribeiro is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ribeiro is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Wing jumps into side control!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ribeiro takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ribeiro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wing tries to avoid it but Ribeiro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wing to the ground. Wing escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Good leg kick by Wing there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ribeiro chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Wing can pounce on him.
Wing is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ribeiro.
Ribeiro has a takedown stuffed.
Ribeiro moves in looking to clinch but Wing pushes him off.
Wing thuds his right hand into Ribeiro's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wing misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ribeiro.
Ribeiro bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Ribeiro moves away from the strike by Wing.
Wing throws a looping overhand right but Ribeiro ducks down to avoid it.
Ribeiro blocks a head kick by Wing.
Ribeiro stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Wing.
Wing lands with a straight right. Ribeiro didn't see that one coming.
Wing throws a jab when Ribeiro was well out of range.
Wing misses with a hook.

Ribeiro takes the fight into the clinch.
Wing prevents the takedown attempt.
Wing tries to break the clinch but Ribeiro is controlling the position.

Ribeiro breaks from the clinch.
Wing with a hook.
Wing cracks the inside of Ribeiro's front leg.
Wing throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Wing is looking to land body kicks.
Wing fails to land with a series of punches.
An inside leg kick lands from Wing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A head kick from Wing lands but Ribeiro takes it in his stride.
Ribeiro chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Wing can pounce on him.

Ribeiro walks forward, straight into a front kick from Wing.
Wing throws a hook but Ribeiro avoids it easily.
Ribeiro avoids the head kick by Wing.
Wing throws out a powerful jab.
Wing dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ribeiro. That did some damage!

Ribeiro uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wing.
Ribeiro wants to clinch up but Wing keeps it at a distance.
Wing does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Gustavo Ribeiro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Wing throws a big shot that misses.

Ribeiro fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wing, pushing him back against the ropes.
Ribeiro goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ribeiro is looking to control Wing's arms but Wing gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ribeiro has his back to the ropes.
Wing wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Wing is trying to break the clinch but Ribeiro is controlling him.

Ribeiro is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Wing can't fight it off and eventually Ribeiro manages to take the fight to the floor. Wing looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ribeiro postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wing is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ribeiro, into his guard.
Wing has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Ribeiro's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Wing misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wing throws an overhand right that lands on Ribeiro's shoulder, as Ribeiro tries to avoid the shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chester Wing showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Wing has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
