Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Koscheck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Carseen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Koscheck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johny Carseen!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koscheck is looking to clinch but Carseen is avoiding it.
Koscheck fails to land with a series of punches.
Left hook, right uppercut from Koscheck.

Koscheck scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Carseen looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are battling for position here. Carseen manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Koscheck wants to stand but Carseen is controlling his posture from full guard.
Carseen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Carseen is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Carseen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Carseen doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Koscheck counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Koscheck shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carseen's guard.

Koscheck is trying to control the position from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Koscheck is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carseen moves into full mount! Koscheck won't be happy about that!

That was a close round but I would say that Josh Koscheck will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Koscheck throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carseen.
Koscheck closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Koscheck wants to clinch up but Carseen keeps it at a distance.
Koscheck misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Koscheck lands with a straight right. Carseen didn't see that one coming.
Koscheck throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Carseen walks into a straight right hand from Koscheck.
Carseen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Koscheck.
Carseen slips a jab and a cross from Koscheck.
A combination from Koscheck does no damage.
Koscheck shoots in for a double leg but Carseen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Carseen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Koscheck!
Carseen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carseen is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Koscheck is surviving well by controlling Carseen's body position as best he can.
Carseen controlling the pace for now.
Koscheck knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carseen on the ground.

Carseen wants to finish this one by submission but Koscheck is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Carseen.
Carseen tries to control but Koscheck wriggling away.

Carseen is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Koscheck is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carseen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Carseen wants to control the pace but Koscheck is squirming around nicely.

Carseen is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Koscheck is surviving well by controlling Carseen's body position as best he can.
Carseen prevents Koscheck from getting the reversal.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Carseen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Koscheck manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Koscheck regains half guard.
Koscheck is staying active underneath Carseen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Koscheck wants to control but Carseen is keeping busy.
Carseen trying to control the pace.
Koscheck trying to control from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johny Carseen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

and Carseen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Koscheck's guard.
Carseen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Koscheck's guard.

Carseen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Koscheck doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carseen.
Carseen is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Koscheck!

Carseen trying to control but Koscheck is having none of it.
Koscheck on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Koscheck tries to get out of the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Carseen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Koscheck has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Koscheck!

Carseen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Carseen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Koscheck lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Koscheck.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carseen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Koscheck!
Koscheck is trying desperately to improve position.
Carseen wants to control the pace but Koscheck is squirming around nicely.
Carseen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johny Carseen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Carseen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
