Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hynes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Will West has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Will West! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Hynes! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hynes stuffs the takedown. Hynes shoots in and drives through. West sprawls well. West lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hynes circles away quickly and effectively. Hynes wants to clinch up but West keeps it at a distance. Hynes is looking to clinch but West is avoiding it.
Hynes misses with a takedown attempt and West counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hynes throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
West in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hynes is on top in guard.
West looking for a sweep. Not yet West, not yet. Hynes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. West looking to control.
Hynes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hynes looking to sit in guard and control but West gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. West stands and steps away. Hynes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. West throws a wild combination but nothing lands. West throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hynes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in West's half guard. West is looking to improve his position.
West is refusing to be controlled, as Hynes sits in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hynes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. West doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hynes. West wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. West keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. West is looking for a sweep. Hynes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. West controlling the position well. West is staying active underneath Hynes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. West decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. West working the head and body with strikes. Hynes is refusing to be controlled, as West sits in half guard. Hynes is concentrating on defense, preventing West from advancing position. West wants to pass to mount but Hynes is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hynes looks like he's trying to stand up.
West is looking to pass Hynes's guard but actually Hynes recovers to full guard. Hynes trying to control the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as West accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. West stands and steps away. Hynes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Hynes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
It looks like Mike Hynes has been cut. Hynes slips a jab and a cross from West.
West fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
West throws a looping overhand right but Hynes ducks down to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Will West dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mike Hynes's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
West closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. West breaks from the clinch.
West defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hynes. West drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. West stands up and beckons Hynes to his feet. West dips to his left and cracks Hynes with an uppercut! West lands the left hand. Hynes misses with a takedown and West counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by West. Hynes tries to pull guard but West won't allow it.
Will West has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Hynes. West is working for takedown but Hynes is calmly controlling the position for now. Hynes is breathing heavily. West breaks the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. West throws a series of strikes that have Hynes backpedaling.
West shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hynes sprawls well. Hynes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. West gets slowly back to his feet. West moves into the clinch. Hynes swings wildly with an uppercut but West uses good head movement to avoid it. West has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hynes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. West manages to break the clinch.
West pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Will West is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. West misses with a jab, cross combination.
West throws a sloppy head kick and Hynes moves out of range easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A combination from West does no damage. Hynes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. West sprawls well initially but Hynes persists and gets the takedown into half guard. West regains full guard. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hynes trying to control the position from guard on top but West is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hynes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on West, up you get! West lands a jab to the head.
Hynes looks to clinch and West counters with a three punch combo that has Hynes backing up. Hynes nods at West to acknowledge the strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. West scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. West fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hynes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's three minutes gone in the round. West dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hynes ducks right into an uppercut from West. West clinches up against the cage. West manages to break the clinch.
Jab by West. West uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hynes has time to react. Hynes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
West lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hynes at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! No joy there for West, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
West lands a left and a right that send Hynes crashing to the mat, dazed. West thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hynes is rocked!
That has opened up Mike Hynes's cut even more. West dances in with a quick combination. Hynes is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from West snaps Hynes's head back. Hynes stumbles backwards against the cage. West steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Hynes's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Hynes just didn't come prepared.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Will West!
