Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Miresk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Ventti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Ventti!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miresk tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ventti sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Miresk somewhat.

Ventti moves into the clinch.

Miresk looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ventti is fending him off so far but Miresk persists. Nope, Ventti circles away and we're back to standing.

Ventti scores with a hook to the body. Miresk takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Ventti closes the distance and clinches.

Matt Ventti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ventti tries to close the distance and clinch up but Miresk swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ventti stuns Miresk with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ventti throws a nice looking combination but Miresk bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ventti lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miresk circles away quickly and effectively.

Ventti has taken the fight to the clinch.

Miresk takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Ventti dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ventti smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ventti lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miresk circles away quickly and effectively.
Miresk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ventti pinned against the cage. Ventti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ventti throws a series of punches but Miresk avoids them all with ease.
Miresk shoots for a double leg takedown but Ventti sprawls well. He's pushed Miresk's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ventti lands with a hook. Miresk tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Miresk keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ventti's efforts to push away.

Ventti will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ventti moves into the clinch.
Miresk can't find room to land a body shot as Ventti controls the action.

Miresk gets control of Ventti's arms and successfully pulls guard. Miresk will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ventti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miresk has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ventti has managed to get both his arms back between Miresk's legs - danger averted.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ventti creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Miresk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ventti's waist but Ventti gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miresk off to one side.

Ventti tries to bum rush Miresk with a series of wild strikes but Miresk uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ventti has closed the distance and engaged Miresk in a clinch.
Oh Miresk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
