PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Havoc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stout comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Stranglehold kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Sammy Stout is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Havoc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sammy Stout!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Havoc.


It looks like Sammy Stout has been cut.
Havoc tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stout was well out of range. Poor timing from Havoc.
Havoc throws a right and a left that Stout avoids nicely.
Stout throws a right hand that Havoc ducks under and follows up with a left that Havoc also avoids with ease.
Stout shoots in but no luck this time.
Havoc misses with the combination.
Stout tries for a takedown but Havoc sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Havoc throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stout was covering up waiting for the punch and Havoc finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Havoc scores with a sloppy right hand. Stout should have avoided that one.
Havoc throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Havoc takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Havoc moves out of range of the body kick from Stout.

Stout is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Havoc leaves Stout with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Havoc tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stout swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Havoc lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stout circles away quickly and effectively.

Stout closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Havoc to the mat! Havoc manages to get full guard.

Havoc is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Havoc stalks Stout and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Stout's face. Stout staggers backwards, shaken.

The crowd cheers as Havoc lands an impressive looking overhand right. Stout doesn't seem phased though.
Stout changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Havoc tries to avoid it but Stout manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Havoc to the ground. Havoc escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stout lands a nice short elbow.

Stout takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Stout jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Havoc is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Havoc and Stout has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No joy there for Stout, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
