Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hindo Gracie!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Deep!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deep throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.
Deep lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.

Deep gets caught flat footed, as Gracie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Deep working for a triangle but Gracie defends it easily.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Deep tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Deep is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Deep manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Deep's guard.

Deep escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gracie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Deep lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Deep looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Deep tries to buck Gracie off but Gracie is having none of it.
Deep is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Deep gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Gracie has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Deep is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Hindo Gracie!
