The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Nogueira looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Cruz wants to stand but Nogueira is controlling his posture from full guard.
Cruz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cruz advances to half guard.
Cruz is looking for a kimura but Nogueira is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cruz to get the leverage.
Cruz trying to pass the guard but Nogueira defending well.
Nogueira makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nogueira.
Cruz preventing the sweep.
Nogueira is working hard here to advance position.
Cruz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cruz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cruz stands and throws Nogueira's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Cruz decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Nogueira shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Nogueira working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
