Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donitz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hughes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Donitz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Donitz slips a jab and a cross from Hughes.
Hughes fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Donitz checks it well.
Hughes misses with a few strikes there.

Hughes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Donitz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Donitz lands in his opponent's guard.
Hughes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hughes is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hughes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Donitz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Donitz is trying to control the position but Hughes postures up.
Donitz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Donitz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Donitz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Donitz is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hughes has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Donitz goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hughes turns into him and now he's in Donitz's guard.
Hughes gets to his feet. Donitz looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Hughes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hughes lands a nice shot to the body.
Hughes scores with a crisp jab that stopped Donitz in his tracks.
Hughes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hughes is breathing heavily.
Hughes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Danny Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Donitz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Donitz misses with a takedown attempt - Hughes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Donitz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Donitz gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hughes leaves Donitz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Donitz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hughes seems keen to control Donitz's posture.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hughes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Donitz's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Danny Hughes will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hughes tries to bum rush Donitz with a series of wild strikes but Donitz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hughes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A bone on bone clash there as Donitz blocks the leg kick.
Donitz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Donitz working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Donitz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Donitz is looking to advance position but Hughes won't allow it.
Donitz maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Hughes could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Donitz has cracked it and Hughes is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Donitz!
