PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Starsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Starsky swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Starsky will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Starsky on that attempt.
Starsky misses with a body kick.
Jackson closes the distance looking to clinch

and Starsky counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Starsky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jackson is looking to stand up but Starsky isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Starsky drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Starsky has Jackson in his guard.

Jackson gets to his feet. Starsky looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Starsky counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Starsky is trying to work for a kimura but Jackson is defending well.

Jackson manages to escape and get back to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Starsky counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jackson's guard now.
Starsky is breathing heavily.
Starsky wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

Jackson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Starsky, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
