Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vasko Velkovski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gromlit Becah! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velkovski is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Velkovski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Becah closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Velkovski is trying to force a seperation but Becah has the dominant position. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Becah. Becah is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Becah is stalling here. Gromlit Becah dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Velkovski cracks Becah with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Velkovski tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Becah counters with a big head kick but Velkovski shrugs it off. Velkovski swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Becah holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Knees in the clinch landing for Velkovski.
A frustrated look appears on Velkovski's face as he tries to break the clinch. Velkovski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Velkovski tries to keep at a distance but Becah has taken the fight into the clinch. Velkovski wants to get back to striking at distance but Becah won't allow it.
Becah breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A punch lands to the side of Velkovski 's head but he takes it in his stride. Becah wants to clinch. Becah tries to clinch up but Velkovski circles away and keeps his distance. Vasko Velkovski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velkovski cracks Becah with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Velkovski tries to clinch but fails miserably and Becah counters with a big head kick but Velkovski shrugs it off. Velkovski throws a left and a right that both miss
and Becah counters by moving into the clinch. Becah's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Velkovski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Velkovski slips a jab and a cross from Becah.

and Becah counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Velkovski is lucky that one didn't land flush. Velkovski lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Gromlit Becah. Well Becah has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
