Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Veijo Meri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tham Boon Yodsuwan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meri's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Veijo Meri! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tham Boon Yodsuwan! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meri shoots for a double leg takedown but Yodsuwan sprawls well. He's pushed Meri's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Yodsuwan's corner calls for a 1-2. Yodsuwan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Meri is looking to clinch but Yodsuwan is avoiding it.
Yodsuwan scores with a crisp jab that stopped Meri in his tracks. Tham Boon Yodsuwan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yodsuwan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Meri closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yodsuwan circles away. Meri tries to clinch up. Yodsuwan lands a nice shot to the body.
Yodsuwan has Meri up against the cage in a clinch.
Yodsuwan lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Veijo Meri has been cut. Yodsuwan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Yodsuwan stalling in the clinch.
Meri fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Veijo Meri. That's going to take a lot out of him. Yodsuwan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Yodsuwan cracks Meri with a right hand to the side of the head. No luck for Meri with that takedown attempt. Yodsuwan rushes Meri and presses him up against the cage. Yodsuwan prevents Meri from breaking the clinch. Yodsuwan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Yodsuwan closes the distance and clinches. This has been an exciting period of action! Yodsuwan avoids the elbow strike from Meri, against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yodsuwan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Yodsuwan lands with a shot to the body. Yodsuwan gets a clinch. Yodsuwan has Meri pressed against the cage, preventing Meri from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nice elbow from Yodsuwan. Yodsuwan breaks the clinch.
Meri on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Yodsuwan moves into the clinch. Yodsuwan gets underhooks to prevent Meri's takedown attempt.
Meri is breathing heavily. Yodsuwan breaks the clinch.
Yodsuwan moves into the clinch. Meri jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Yodsuwan walks away with a smile on his face. Meri gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Yodsuwan plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Yodsuwan lands a head kick!
Yodsuwan works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Meri is rocked! Look low, kick high! Yodsuwan uses the oldest trick in the book to send Meri tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Yodsuwan is absolutely delighted - when Meri wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Tham Boon Yodsuwan!
