Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Clark Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shariq Abdul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clark Wayne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shariq Abdul! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abdul scores a takedown into full mount! Wayne wants to control but Abdul is having none of it. Abdul wants to control the pace but Wayne is squirming around nicely. Wayne wants to hold on but Abdul pushes him away. Poor strikes thrown by Abdul there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Abdul has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wayne tries to lock up and control but Abdul gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Abdul sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Wayne is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Abdul throws some wild stikes that Wayne manages to avoid easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wayne tries to reverse the position but Abdul maintains control. Abdul looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Abdul thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Wayne is looking to improve his position but Abdul isn't that keen on the idea. Wayne wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Abdul.
Abdul goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Wayne is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Abdul looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Abdul pulls Wayne in close to his closed guard and prevents Wayne from doing any damage or advancing position. Abdul not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Abdul looks gassed! Abdul keeping moving, preventing Wayne from controlling successfully. Wayne is stalling in the full guard. Wayne thows a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wayne has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Abdul is proving hard to escape from. Abdul keeping moving, preventing Wayne from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wayne changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Abdul looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Abdul is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Wayne's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Wayne postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Abdul to stand up. Wayne fails with the takedown and Abdul counters by moving into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wayne looking to slow down the pace here. Wayne manages to break the clinch.
Abdul scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Wayne shoots and misses and Abdul counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Abdul trying to control from half guard but Wayne is working away. Abdul controlling the pace. Wayne works his way to full guard. Good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shariq Abdul dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Wayne with a poor takedown and Abdul counters with a takedown into side control. Wayne tries to escape but Abdul is in control. Abdul is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Wayne manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Wayne controlling the pace. Abdul gets back to full guard.
Abdul has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wayne can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Abdul is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wayne content to stall in guard here. Wayne stops Abdul from standing up. Shariq Abdul has got the better of the ground game so far. Wayne connects with a couple of short punches. Wayne has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wayne looking to pass the guard. Wayne is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Abdul looking for a sweep. Not yet Abdul, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wayne is pushing down on Abdul's leg trying to pass to half guard. Abdul is fighting to maintain full guard but Wayne has managed to sneak the leg through. Abdul avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wayne. Wayne tries to pass the half guard into mount. Abdul knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Abdul wants to improve his position but Wayne is controlling well.
Abdul is refusing to be controlled, as Wayne sits in half guard. Wayne seems to be looking for submissions.
Abdul is staying active underneath Wayne, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Abdul throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Abdul doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wayne counters with a nice double leg into side control. Abdul won't be happy with that. Abdul trying to control but Wayne flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Wayne is looking to control Abdul but Abdul is wriggling around and keeping busy. Wayne struggling to land strikes to the head as Abdul covers up. Abdul is trying to stand back up. Abdul trying to control but not successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wayne controls the action. Wayne is striking well from the back but Abdul escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being. Abdul trying to control from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Clark Wayne will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Wayne keeps the fight on the outside. Abdul shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wayne manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Wayne keeping moving, preventing Abdul from controlling successfully. Wayne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Wayne is trying to control. Abdul wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Wayne seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Abdul controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wayne is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Abdul is just riding it out for now. Wayne eventually gives up the hold. Wayne passes the guard and advances to mount! Wayne fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Abdul wants to hold on but Wayne pushes him away. Wayne controlling the position easily from mount. Wayne has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Wayne looking to ground and pound but Abdul is blocking nicely. Wayne tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Abdul is squirming around, avoiding Wayne's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wayne lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Abdul hang on? Wayne breaks from Abdul's wrist control and lands an elbow. Wayne controlling from the full mount. Wayne wants to control the pace but Abdul is squirming around nicely. Abdul wants to control but Wayne is having none of it. Wayne controlling the pace for now.

Abdul holds of for dear life. Wayne tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Wayne landing strikes from the mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Abdul swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Wayne can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Abdul is looking to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Clark Wayne showed his dominance in that final round. I think Wayne has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
