Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alberto Aquillani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Graham Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Banner has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aquillani tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Banner swivels and escapes. Banner looks gassed! Banner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Banner wants it to stay on the feet. Aquillani keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Banner stuffs the takedown attempt from Aquillani. Aquillani gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alberto Aquillani. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aquillani fails with the takedown. Aquillani closes the distance and clinches up with Banner, looking for a takedown. Aquillani pushes Banner against the cage but Banner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Aquillani has a takedown stuffed. Banner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Aquillani looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Banner is chipping away with strikes.
Banner sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Aquillani is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Aquillani is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aquillani wants to control but Banner postures up. Banner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aquillani. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. An elbow from Banner crashes against the mat.
Banner wants to control but Aquillani is keeping him busy. Aquillani is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Banner's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Aquillani regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Banner.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Aquillani had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Banner is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Aquillani Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Banner's back instead. Aquillani could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Banner just trying to survive but Aquillani is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Banner won't enjoy being in this position. Aquillani looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Banner is tapping - it's over boys! Aquillani picks up the submission victory!
