Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Haijime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geo Brigg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Geo Brigg was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ippo Haijime! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Geo Brigg! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haijime tries to clinch but Brigg is having none of it. Brigg avoids the head kick by Haijime.
Haijime shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brigg but Brigg pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Haijime feints and as Brigg raises his hands in defense, Haijime changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Brigg seems keen to control Haijime's posture. Haijime preventing the sweep.
Brigg had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Haijime is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Brigg Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Haijime's back instead. You can see the frustration on Haijime's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

 That's one minute gone in the round. I really don't envy Haijime right now.
Haijime trying to control the action but Brigg just sinks the hooks in. Brigg slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Brigg looking for the choke but no joy. Brigg just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Haijime tries to escape the position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Haijime holding both Brigg 's hands and preventing any damage.
Haijime fending off the submission attempt from Brigg. Brigg is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Haijime trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Brigg is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Haijime looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Brigg looks gassed! Brigg is riding his opponent, not letting Haijime buck him off. Brigg throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Brigg has the hooks in. Haijime is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Haijime rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Haijime moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Brigg tries to free his leg and advance position but Haijime is retaining full guard. Haijime not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Brigg seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Haijime looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Geo Brigg dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Haijime shoots in looking for a takedown. Brigg tries to sprawl out of it but Haijime keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brigg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Haijime shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brigg sprawls well. Brigg wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Haijime gets slowly back to his feet. Haijime shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brigg as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ippo Haijime. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brigg looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Haijime! Haijime is looking to improve his position but Brigg isn't that keen on the idea.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Brigg controlling from mount. Haijime tries to lock up and control but Brigg gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Brigg controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brigg is breathing heavily.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Haijime tries to reverse the position but Brigg maintains control. Brigg looking to control and managing it successfully. Haijime wants to control but Brigg is having none of it. Haijime is trying desperately to improve position. Haijime tries to hold on but Brigg postures up. Brigg tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Brigg's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Let's hope that Brigg has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
 Despite being in the dominant position, Geo Brigg just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Haijime moves in looking to clinch but Brigg pushes him off. Ippo Haijime is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Haijime gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Haijime wants to stand but Brigg is controlling the position. Brigg content to stall in guard here.
Haijime is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brigg controls from within his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Geo Brigg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Brigg doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Haijime counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Haijime. Haijime fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Brigg jumps guard.
Brigg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Haijime wants to stand and escape but instead Brigg has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Haijime looking to control.
Brigg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Brigg passes Haijime's left leg - he's now in half guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Brigg seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Haijime does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Brigg slips a nice elbow through Haijime's hands, connecting with Haijime's forehead. Brigg stalling. Brigg prevents Haijime from improving his position. Brigg throwing shots but Haijime is blocking nicely. Haijime trying to control from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haijime is staying active underneath Brigg, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Brigg might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Haijime kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
 Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Brigg takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Haijime with a poor takedown
so Brigg counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Brigg sitting in guard here, content to control. Haijime has control of Brigg's left arm, preventing Brigg from doing any damage. Haijime is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Brigg stays in close to Haijime's body and controls the position. Haijime striking off his back but it's not causing Brigg any problems. Brigg is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Brigg wants to control from the top but Haijime keeps moving. Haijime wants to stand up but Brigg is controlling him.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
 It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Haijime has his takedown stuffed
and Brigg moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ippo Haijime. That's going to take a lot out of him. Haijime gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Brigg.
Haijime drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Brigg gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Brigg is working for takedown but Haijime is calmly controlling the position for now.
Haijime pulls guard effortlessly. Brigg postures up.
Brigg drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Haijime dives on top into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Geo Brigg comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Brigg has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
