Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew McPain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dog Catcher!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Catcher fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Catcher is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

McPain shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McPain showed some decent athleticism there.
McPain content to control rather than advance.
McPain is thwarting Catcher's attempts to control the position.
McPain tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

McPain wants to work for an arm triangle but Catcher is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
McPain throwing shots but Catcher is blocking nicely.

Catcher has his foot on McPain's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McPain works his way back into a safe position though.

McPain drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McPain jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McPain stands up over Catcher, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

McPain is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Catcher wants to sweep but no luck.

Catcher working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McPain doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McPain manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McPain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McPain is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Catcher's half guard.

McPain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Catcher works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
McPain chips away with some ground and pound.
Catcher tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

McPain closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Catcher won't allow McPain to pass to mount.
Catcher is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McPain's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McPain's back!
Catcher has the hooks in. McPain is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Catcher lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
McPain has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Catcher.

Catcher content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

McPain uses the cage to get back to his feet.
McPain fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Catcher shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McPain as he jumps to the side.
Catcher tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
McPain lands a really nice looking cross but Catcher seems unphased.
McPain darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
McPain lands a jab to the nose.
Catcher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McPain tries to avoid it but Catcher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McPain to the ground. McPain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McPain throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Catcher stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Catcher with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McPain to score with a decent uppercut.
Horrible takedown by Catcher or perhaps it was just good defense by McPain which made him look bad.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
