The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pikkarainen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Pikkarainen wants to pass the guard but Briggs is keeping the position.
Pikkarainen drops back looking for a leg! Briggs is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Briggs manages to kick Pikkarainen off! Pikkarainen jumps back into Briggs's guard.
Pikkarainen works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Pikkarainen wants to pass to mount but Briggs is defending the position.
Briggs is trying to control but can't.
Pikkarainen maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Briggs could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Pikkarainen has cracked it and Briggs is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Pikkarainen!
