Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lauri Mononen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mononen's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, I Must Break You!. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Mononen as Hernandez shoots in. Horrible takedown by Hernandez or perhaps it was just good defense by Mononen which made him look bad. Hernandez fails with a takedown attempt. Lauri Mononen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Hernandez. Mononen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Mononen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hernandez has a closed guard, preventing Mononen from standing up. That's two minutes gone in the round. Mononen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hernandez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mononen is breathing heavily. Mononen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hernandez is controlling him. Hernandez wants to pass the guard but Mononen is keeping the position. Mononen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hernandez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hernandez content to stall in guard here. Let's hope that Hernandez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Mononen is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hernandez has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Mononen has control of Hernandez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hernandez regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Hernandez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mononen counters by clinching up. Mononen softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Mononen gets a trip takedown into half guard. Hernandez is controlling Mononen's position as best he can from this difficult position. Mononen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Hernandez is pressing down on Mononen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Mononen postures up in Hernandez's guard and throws a big left but Hernandez blocks it. Mononen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hernandez is adopting a defensive guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Antonio Hernandez just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hernandez tries for a takedown but Mononen circles away easily and Mononen counters by moving into the clinch. Hernandez jumps guard but Mononen stands there with Hernandez around his waist. Hernandez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Mononen is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

But no, Mononen has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
