Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Garcia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlson Gracie! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia has a takedown stuffed. Gracie feints and as Garcia raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Gracie passes Garcia's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Gracie is keen to just control but Garcia is a slippery customer. Gracie working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Garcia's thigh. Garcia counters though and makes it back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie trying to move into half guard but instead Garcia has managed to sweep! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Garcia trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Garcia is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gracie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Garcia wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia looking to pass the guard. Garcia has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Garcia tries to clinch but Gracie moves out of range. Garcia looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Garcia is trying to control. Gracie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Gracie tries to kick Garcia off but Garcia keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia is pressing down on Gracie's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gracie is holding on for now. Garcia not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Garcia is looking for a kimura but Gracie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Garcia to get the leverage. Garcia is breathing heavily. Gracie wants to get back to his feet. Garcia wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Garcia seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gracie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Garcia's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gracie pushes down on Garcia's leg and manages to get into half guard. Gracie passes the guard and advances to mount! Gracie with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Gracie is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Gracie extends the arm and Garcia is forced to tap!
