Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ross The Boss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giles Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giles Edwards is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ross The Boss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Giles Edwards! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edwards shoots in and drives through. The Boss sprawls well. The Boss shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Edwards tries to roll over but The Boss keeps him under control. Edwards is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Edwards on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The Boss scoring with strikes to the body and head. The Boss escapes and gets back to his feet. Edwards has his takedown stuffed and The Boss counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Edwards is rocked! The Boss gets to his feet. Edwards looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Edwards is still on wobbly legs! Can The Boss finish him? The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Edwards showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from The Boss.
Edwards seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Boss throws a right and a left that Edwards avoids nicely. The Boss gets a takedown into half guard. The Boss stands up and beckons Edwards to join him on the feet. Ross The Boss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The Boss throws a series of punches but Edwards moves out of range. The Boss fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Boss throws a looping overhand right but Edwards ducks down to avoid it. The Boss tries to bum rush Edwards with a series of wild strikes but Edwards uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Edwards with a lazy takedown attempt and The Boss counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Ross The Boss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giles Edwards. The Boss seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The Boss looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Edwards with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The Boss is looking to take a break and control but Edwards is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nice strikes from The Boss there. The Boss stands up from half guard. The Boss with a poor takedown and Edwards counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in The Boss's guard now. Edwards must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The Boss is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Boss is looking to sweep but instead, Edwards has passed into half guard.
The Boss looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The Boss makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! The Boss wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The Boss shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. The Boss showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. The Boss not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's five minutes gone in the round. The Boss tries to stand but can't do so whilst Edwards controls his leg. The Boss trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The Boss prevents Edwards from improving his position. The Boss gets to his feet - back to striking we go! The Boss wants to clinch up but Edwards keeps it at a distance. Edwards swats away the attempt to clinch by The Boss. The Boss throws a jab when Edwards was well out of range.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The Boss shoots in for a double leg but Edwards sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The Boss gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The Boss pulls guard effortlessly. The Boss is looking to stand up but Edwards isn't so interested in that idea. The Boss preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. The Boss wants to stand but Edwards is controlling the position. The Boss is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The Boss pushes Edwards off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The Boss shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. The Boss showed some decent athleticism there. The Boss decides to stand and escape the position. Edwards is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The Boss misses with a wild body shot. The Boss lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Edwards backs up against the ropes.

and Edwards decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in The Boss's guard.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. The Boss has his foot on Edwards's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Edwards works his way back into a safe position though. The Boss is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The Boss manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Edwards manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Boss wanted to stand there but Edwards had control of the position. The Boss decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Edwards, up you get! Ross The Boss is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The Boss drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The Boss decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Nice sprawl there from Edwards as The Boss shoots in. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The Boss throws a combination that misses and Edwards counters with a nice double leg into guard. The Boss is pulling down on Edwards's head to control his posture. The Boss is looking to stand up but Edwards isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edwards preventing the sweep. The Boss might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The Boss is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Boss looking for subs off his back but Edwards has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The Boss preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. The Boss trying to control from the bottom.
That's five minutes gone in the round. The Boss gets full guard. The Boss wants to stand but Edwards is controlling the position.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The Boss lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Edwards! The Boss looking to control but Edwards is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The Boss lands a heavy elbow. Ross The Boss overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The Boss working away from the top, dropping strikes. A nice elbow there by The Boss. Edwards is looking to improve his position but The Boss isn't that keen on the idea. The Boss unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Edwards wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! The Boss celebrates on the ropes and the crowd goes wild!
