The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adama throws a head kick that misses. Winchester shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Adama manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Winchester is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Winchester forces his way into half guard. Winchester thows a huge punch but Adama dodges it nicely.
Adama is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Winchester pulls his head out easily. Adama looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Winchester has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Adama wants to improve his position but Winchester is controlling well.
Adama avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Winchester. Winchester is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Adama is just riding it out for now. Winchester eventually gives up the hold. Winchester looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Adama with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Winchester is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Adama sees it coming and defends easily. Adama is pressing down on Winchester's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Adama looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Winchester got a little sloppy there for a moment and Adama has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Winchester has managed to get both his arms back between Adama's legs - danger averted. Adama looks gassed! Adama looking for a guillotine here but Winchester defends easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Winchester drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Winchester jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Adama throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Adama's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Adama looking for submissions off his back. Winchester is working for a kimura but Adama is defending it quite comfortably.

Winchester passes the guard and advances to mount! Winchester is going olschool here, as he tries to force Adama to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Adama shrugs it off. Winchester is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Adama is forced to tap! Great finish!
