Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Marcello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Langley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Langley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Get Ready for the Next Battle kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Marcello!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Langley!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcello is looking to clinch.
Langley keeps the fight on the outside.
Marcello tries to clinch but Langley is having none of it.
Marcello misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Marcello has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Gabriel Marcello seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Langley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Langley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Langley is trying to trip Marcello. He has hold of a leg but Marcello is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Langley persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

and Langley counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marcello has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Langley finds it's way round the side to connect with Marcello's head.

and Langley counters with a left and a right that stings Marcello.

and Langley counters with a series of strikes. Marcello will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Langley counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Langley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Marcello shoots and misses
and Langley counters with a left and a right that stings Marcello.
Langley walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Marcello checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Langley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Marcello moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Langley looks to land a combination. Marcello sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Marcello will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Langley up against the cage.

Langley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Marcello tries to stall but Langley uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Langley is trying to break free.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Langley avoids the elbow strike from Marcello, against the cage.
Come on Marcello - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Marcello lands a nice elbow.
Marcello lands a nice knee to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Langley has Marcello pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Marcello manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Jake Langley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Langley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Marcello had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Langley is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Marcello Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Langley's back instead.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
