Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Baringer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christopher Andersson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andersson is looking to clinch. Baringer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Baringer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Baringer throwing strikes from guard but Andersson blocks nicely. Baringer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Baringer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Baringer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Andersson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Baringer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Andersson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Baringer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Andersson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Baringer's back instead. Andersson scores with strikes from the back.

That's one minute gone in the round. Andersson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Baringer controls from within his opponent's guard. Andersson is looking to stand back up but Baringer counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Andersson. Baringer stands up from half guard. Baringer drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Andersson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Baringer stopping the sweep attempt from Andersson. Baringer looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baringer drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Andersson dives on top into guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Andersson throws a big right hand that misses. Baringer has a closed guard, preventing Andersson from standing up. Baringer wants to get back to his feet but Andersson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Baringer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Andersson is in close to Baringer's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andersson throws and elbow that misses. Baringer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Andersson's guard. Nice move by Baringer! Baringer sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baringer won't allow Andersson to get back to his feet. Baringer looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Baringer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baringer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Baringer is breathing heavily. Andersson wants to stand up but Baringer is controlling him. Baringer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Andersson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Baringer. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Baringer working the ground and pound from side control. Baringer cracks Andersson with a big right hand but Andersson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Andersson pushes Baringer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Baringer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Baringer tries for a kimura but Andersson is defending well. Baringer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Andersson, who protects the arm well. Andersson is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Andersson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baringer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Andersson tries to roll over but Baringer keeps him under control. Andersson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Baringer drops an elbow to the side of Andersson's head. Andersson wants to improve his position but Baringer is controlling well.
Baringer stops Andersson from getting back to his feet.
Baringer content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Andersson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Baringer has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Baringer controlling the pace for now. Andersson tries to reverse the position but Baringer maintains control. Baringer blocks Andersson's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Baringer breaks from Andersson's wrist control and lands an elbow. Andersson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Baringer gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andersson moves in looking to clinch but Baringer pushes him off. Baringer throws a sloppy head kick and Andersson moves out of range easily. Some wild striking there from Andersson.
Andersson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Andersson misses with a jab, cross combination.

Baringer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Andersson avoids it really well and circles away. Andersson closes the distance and clinches up with Baringer, looking for a takedown. Andersson pushes Baringer against the cage but Baringer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Andersson darts in trying to clinch and Baringer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Andersson's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Andersson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Andersson wants to hit a switch here but Baringer passes into full mount! Christopher Andersson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bill Baringer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Andersson actively working from the bottom here.
And that's the end of the fight! Bill Baringer showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Baringer, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
