The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clowe tries to clinch up.

No joy there for Clowe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hero dives in and grabs Clowe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Clowe pushes down on Hero's head and hops out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Clowe tries to clinch but Hero is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Clowe lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Clowe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hero walks away with a smile on his face. Clowe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hero's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Hero drops back looking for a leg! Clowe is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Clowe manages to kick Hero off! Hero jumps back into Clowe's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Clowe lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Clowe tries for a takedown but Hero manages to get underhooks.
Clowe jumps guard but Hero stands there with Clowe around his waist. Clowe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hero gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Clowe.

Hero has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Clowe uses from the top position.
