Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Pilkington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Voet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pilkington comes to the cage accompanied by click me. Michael Pilkington has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Pilkington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Voet!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pilkington clinches.
Pilkington lands a knee to the head.

Voet breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pilkington tries a head kick but it misses.
Voet fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Pilkington is out of range.
Voet throws a head kick but Pilkington moves out of range.

Pilkington closes the distance and pushes Voet back into the cage.
Pilkington lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Voet is trying to stall.
Voet is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.
Pilkington lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Voet or not.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Pilkington.

Pilkington successfully pulls guard.
Pilkington striking off his back but it's not causing Voet any problems.
Pilkington is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pilkington bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Voet's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Voet looking for a sweep. Not yet Voet, not yet.
Voet keeping full guard, as Pilkington tries to pass.
Voet is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Voet is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Pilkington might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Voet pushes Pilkington off and scrambles back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pilkington slaps away a takedown attempt from Voet, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pilkington swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Pilkington gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Pilkington's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Pilkington forces Voet back against the cage and clinches.
Pilkington using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Voet has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Pilkington blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Pilkington lands an elbow inside.

Pilkington jumps guard and drags Voet to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Pilkington is trying to keep Voet in close.
Pilkington is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pilkington thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Voet wants to stand but Pilkington is controlling his posture from full guard.

Pilkington has his feet on Voet's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pilkington walks forward, straight into a front kick from Voet.
Voet fails in his attempt to clinch.
Voet fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Voet does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Pilkington shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Voet is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pilkington scores with a couple of nice shots.

Pilkington is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Voet defends it well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Pilkington dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Pilkington shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Voet manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Voet avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Voet wants to sweep here but Pilkington controlling him for the moment.
Pilkington with a flurry of punches that miss.
Pilkington working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pilkington accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Pilkington gets to his feet. Voet looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Voet is breathing heavily.

Voet slaps away a takedown attempt from Pilkington, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Michael Pilkington is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Voet tries for a takedown but Pilkington circles away easily

and Pilkington counters with a shoot takedown. Voet fights it but they end up in guard.
Voet wants to hit a switch here but Pilkington passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Voet there!
Voet takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The referee warns Voet that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
BOOM! Pilkington connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Voet is desperately trying to improve his position but Pilkington has a good base and remains in mount.

Pilkington tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Pilkington is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Voet is surviving well by controlling Pilkington's body position as best he can.
Voet wants to try and get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Voet tries to lock up and control but Pilkington gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pilkington fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Pilkington is working for a guillotine from mount but Voet frees his head quite easily.
Pilkington won't let Voet get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Voet with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pilkington to score with a decent uppercut.
Pilkington fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Voet tries a head kick but it misses.

Danga de danga de dang - Pilkington scores with a four punch combination!
Voet throws a sloppy head kick and Pilkington moves out of range easily.

and Pilkington counters with a one-two to the body.
Voet throws a head kick that Pilkington semi-blocks.

Pilkington looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pilkington is trying to control the action in half guard but Voet is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Pilkington not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pilkington looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Voet wants to stand back up but Pilkington manages to pass into side control.
Pilkington landing strikes.

Pilkington is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Voet looks calm but he's in trouble here. Pilkington gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Voet is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Pilkington lets go of the hold and Voet can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Michael Pilkington!
