Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Holt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Grant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Holt! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holt pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Grant shoots in but no luck this time. Holt closes the distance and clinches. Holt turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Holt manages to end up in side control. Grant gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Grant blocking the ground and pound attempt from Holt. Grant wants to control but Holt is keeping busy and won't allow it. Holt tries to pass the half guard into mount. Grant knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Grant is trying to stand.
Holt content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Grant is trying to maintain the position but Holt is very close to passing his half guard. Grant misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grant looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Holt throws a series of punches but Grant avoids them all with ease. Grant throws a leg kick but Holt sees it coming and checks it nicely. Holt scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Grant is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Grant tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Holt wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Grant is breathing heavily. Grant dodges the ground and pound from Holt. Grant takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Holt working away. Holt moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Check out the look on Holt's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grant tries to buck Holt off but Holt is having none of it. Grant takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Grant is looking for a sweep. Holt cracks Grant with a big right hand but Grant just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Holt passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Grant! Holt tries to control but Grant wriggling away. Grant is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grant is in a horrible position here. Holt smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Holt looking to control but Grant is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Grant wants to hold on but Holt pushes him away. Holt pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Holt misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Holt prevents Grant from getting the reversal. Holt throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Holt wants to control the pace but Grant is squirming around nicely. Holt misses with a head shot. Holt blocks Grant's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grant bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Holt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grant. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grant lands a couple of decent looking shots. Holt keeping moving, preventing Grant from controlling successfully. Grant won't allow Holt to sweep him here. Grant controls from within his opponent's guard. Holt wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Grant with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Holt wants to sweep but no luck. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Holt can do anything to dispel that myth. Holt keeping moving, preventing Grant from controlling successfully. Grant works a leg free and moves into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Holt dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Grant tries for a takedown but Holt sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Grant tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Grant closes the distance looking to clinch and Holt counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Grant has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Holt is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Holt tightens his grip and picks Grant up, before dumping him to the ground. Grant manages to land in guard. Holt connects with a couple of short punches. Grant is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Grant wants to sweep here but Holt controlling him for the moment. Holt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Grant has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Holt has passed into side control.
Grant is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Holt off and has taken his back! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Holt turns into Grant and is now in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holt thows a big elbow that misses. Holt thows a big elbow that misses. Holt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Grant working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Holt. Grant is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Holt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Grant keeping moving, preventing Holt from controlling successfully. Grant wants to stand up but Holt is controlling him.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Holt tries to clinch but Grant is having none of it. Grant shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Holt counters with a nice low kick that buckles Grant's knee momentarily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Grant. That's going to take a lot out of him. Grant throws a push kick but Holt slaps the foot to one side. Holt with a lazy takedown attempt and Grant counters with a takedown into side control. Grant trying to control the action but Holt is working from the bottom. Grant has an Americana. Holt didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Grant is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Grant hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ted Grant!
