Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Nathan Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rene Schweidler!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schweidler scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jones in his tracks.

Schweidler throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones taking shots to the head.
Jones really wants to buck Schweidler off and get back to his feet.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones avoids a series of strikes thrown by Schweidler.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Jones holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Schweidler tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Schweidler postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.

Schweidler has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jones's face.
Schweidler is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jones can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Schweidler lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schweidler is trying to control the action in half guard but Jones is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Schweidler might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jones kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Schweidler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

Schweidler is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top!
