Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Sherm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jr jrod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from jrod.
jrod fails to land with a series of punches.

Sherm is looking to clinch but jrod is avoiding it.
Sherm fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
jrod fails to land with a series of punches.
jrod's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and jrod duly obliges.
Sherm has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

jrod gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Sherm fails to pull the fight into his guard.
jrod using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sherm has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Still in the clinch, jrod scores with a nice short uppercut.

Sherm goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now jrod is on top in guard.

jrod gets to his feet - Sherm follows without any prompting.
jrod throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sherm.

jrod lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sherm circles away quickly and effectively.

and jrod counters with a straight right hand.

Sherm moves into the clinch.
Sherm jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as jrod walks away with a smile on his face. Sherm gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
jrod lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

jrod lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sherm circles away quickly and effectively.
jrod tries to clinch up but Sherm circles away and keeps his distance.

jrod tries to bum rush Sherm with a series of wild strikes but Sherm uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sherm swats away the attempt to clinch by jrod.
Sherm misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
jr jrod is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

jrod closes the distance and clinches.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
jrod lands a damaging elbow.

jrod manages to break the clinch.
Sherm closes the distance and clinches up with jrod, looking for a takedown. Sherm pushes jrod against the cage but jrod circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
jrod lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sherm circles away quickly and effectively.

Sherm shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sherm was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
jrod is in a horrible position here. Sherm smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
jrod wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

The referee warns jrod that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sherm has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of jrod's face.

Sherm fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Sherm is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, jrod has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Sherm lands with some vicious ground and pound - can jrod hang on?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sherm is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. jrod is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. jrod flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Sherm anticipates the leg and manages to get behind jrod and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Sherm slips an arm under jrod chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Sherm has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Sherm is squeezing on jrod like an anaconda would it's prey. jrod fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
