1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ted Cabbage! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shishkin moves into the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Shishkin on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Shishkin creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Cabbage's defenses. Cabbage takes an elbow to the forehead. Cabbage softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Cabbage lands a shoulder strike. Cabbage trying to control the position but instead, Shishkin has worked for underhooks and has pushed Cabbage into the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Cabbage jumps guard but Shishkin stands there with Cabbage around his waist. Cabbage gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shishkin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cabbage wants to stand but Shishkin is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cabbage tries to clinch but Shishkin moves away and Shishkin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cabbage won't be happy with that. Cabbage manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Cabbage looks gassed! Cabbage is trying to control but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Shishkin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cabbage knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Shishkin stops Cabbage from getting back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Shishkin rushes Cabbage and presses him up against the cage. Shishkin could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Cabbage is trying to maintain a safe position but Shishkin gets an underhook and turns Cabbage into the cage. Shishkin jumps guard but Cabbage stands there with Shishkin around his waist. Shishkin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shishkin prevents Cabbage from getting back to his feet. Shishkin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Cabbage with a lazy takedown attempt and Shishkin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shishkin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Cabbage counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Shishkin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cabbage manages to get himself to full guard.

Shishkin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cabbage manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shishkin has Cabbage in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabbage gets to his feet - Shishkin follows without any prompting. Cabbage tries for a takedown but Shishkin circles away easily and Shishkin counters with a head kick. That will keep Cabbage thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Cabbage fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cabbage gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Shishkin counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Alexey Shishkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Cabbage. Shishkin wants to free his trapped foot but Cabbage is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cabbage is looking to improve his position but Shishkin isn't that keen on the idea. Cabbage wants to hold on but Shishkin pushes him away. Cabbage can't escape the position.
Shishkin avoids the attempt from Cabbage to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Alexey Shishkin will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Shishkin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cabbage is trying to defend but Shishkin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cabbage is looking to control Shishkin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cabbage avoid being mounted? Shishkin is looking to take a break and control but Cabbage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cabbage makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cabbage. Shishkin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shishkin postures up in Cabbage's guard and throws a big left but Cabbage blocks it. Shishkin stands and steps away. Cabbage gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Shishkin misses with a takedown attempt and Cabbage counters with a left and a right that stings Shishkin. Cabbage tries to clinch up and Shishkin counters with a single leg into guard. Cabbage didn't expect that. Shishkin stands and steps away. Cabbage tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shishkin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Excellent takedown into side control there by Shishkin. This has been an exciting period of action! Shishkin blocks the strikes from Cabbage.
Shishkin decides to stand back up. Shishkin swats away the attempt to clinch by Cabbage. Shishkin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cabbage counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Shishkin!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cabbage looking to control but Shishkin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Shishkin tries to reverse the position but Cabbage maintains control. Cabbage stands up from mount. Strange move. Cabbage with a lazy takedown attempt and Shishkin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Cabbage not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cabbage throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Cabbage wants to stand up but Shishkin is controlling him. Shishkin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cabbage pushes Shishkin off and scrambles back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shishkin tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Cabbage counters with a nice double leg into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Alexey Shishkin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shishkin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
