Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Sosa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Carwin! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carwin tries for a takedown but Sosa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sosa misses with a double jab.
Carlos Sosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sosa will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sosa goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Sosa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sosa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sosa wants it to stay on the feet. Carwin throws a right and a left that Sosa avoids nicely. Sosa misses with a combination
and Carwin counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Sosa is not content to let Carwin control the position. Sosa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carwin on the ground. Carwin wants to stand up but Sosa has a hold of him and won't allow it. Carwin trying to control the action but Sosa is working from the bottom. Sosa on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sosa preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sosa is looking to escape. Carwin is trying to control the action in half guard but Sosa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sosa is controlling Carwin's position as best he can from this difficult position. Sosa avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carwin. Carwin is thwarting Sosa's attempts to control the position. Sosa looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Sosa blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carwin.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sosa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sosa wants it to stay on the feet. Carlos Sosa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Carwin. Sosa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carwin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Carwin is looking to clinch but Sosa is avoiding it.

and Carwin counters with a flying knee. Nice. Sosa falls off balance throwing a combination
so Carwin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Carwin wants to control from the top but Sosa keeps moving. Carwin trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sosa's guard. Carwin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carwin won't allow Sosa to get back to his feet. Carwin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Carwin looks gassed! Sosa seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Carwin dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Carwin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sosa paws at him with a jab and circles away. Carwin tries to clinch there but Sosa circles away.
Carwin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sosa looks to land a combination but Carwin avoids it well. Sosa fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Shane Carwin has been cut. Sosa misses with a straight left. Sosa with a nice cross. Sosa throws a left and a right that both miss
and Carwin counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Sosa's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sosa throws a hook to the side of Carwin's head but Carwin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sosa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carwin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sosa misses with a few strikes there.
Sosa throws a combination that misses and Carwin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sosa keeping moving, preventing Carwin from controlling successfully. Sosa pulls Carwin in close to prevent any damage. Carwin is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sosa wants to get back to his feet but Carwin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sosa wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Carwin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sosa is proving hard to escape from. Sosa keeping moving, preventing Carwin from controlling successfully. Sosa wants to get back to his feet but Carwin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sosa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sosa tries to get out of the position. Carwin trying to control but Sosa is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A head kick misses from Carwin. A swing and a miss from Sosa. A jab from Sosa misses. Sosa throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Carwin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Carwin walks into a straight right hand from Sosa. Sosa moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Sosa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Carwin counters with a lovely shot to the body. Sosa looks to throw the jab but Carwin is out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sosa throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Carwin counters by moving into the clinch. Carwin is trying to maintain a safe position but Sosa gets an underhook and turns Carwin into the cage. Sosa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Horrible takedown by Carwin or perhaps it was just good defense by Sosa which made him look bad. Sosa connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Sosa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sosa scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Carlos Sosa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sosa swinging wilding here.

and Carwin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Carlos Sosa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carwin tries to close the distance and clinch but Sosa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sosa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sosa throws a combination that misses and Carwin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sosa thinking. Sosa takes one to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Sosa dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Shane Carwin's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Carwin. Carwin lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Carwin shoots for a takedown but Sosa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Carwin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sosa as he jumps to the side. and Carwin counters with a big head kick but Sosa shrugs it off. Sosa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sosa throws a right hand that Carwin ducks under and follows up with a left that Carwin also avoids with ease. Carlos Sosa is winning the standup battle so far. A combination from Sosa does no damage. Sosa fails to land with a series of punches.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Carwin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Carwin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
That's one minute gone in the round. Carwin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Sosa misses with a head kick.
Left hook, right uppercut from Sosa. Sosa throws a combination that misses and Carwin counters with a straight right hand. Carwin gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sosa. Sosa is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Sosa works the jab nicely. Carwin walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. No luck for Carwin with that takedown attempt. Sosa misses with a wild combination.
Sosa misses with a straight right. Carwin tries to clinch but Sosa moves out of range. Sosa throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Sosa misses with a straight right.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sosa keeps the fight on the outside. Sosa falls off balance throwing a combination
and Carwin counters with a nice body kick. Sosa lands with a nice combination. Carwin backs away looking to recover. Sosa fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Carwin checks the leg kick. Sosa darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Some bone on bone action there as Carwin checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Sosa throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sosa throws a combination that misses and Carwin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sosa's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carwin is looking to stand up but Sosa won't let him. Carwin trying to control but Sosa is working from the bottom. Carwin wants to pass the guard but Sosa is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sosa wants to stand up but Carwin is controlling him. Sosa is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Sosa keeping moving, preventing Carwin from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sosa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carwin is controlling him.

Sosa catches Carwin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A left lands for Sosa.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carlos Sosa. I think Sosa has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
