Jacobs has chosen Come Out Swinging as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza shoots in but Jacobs avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nice cross by Jacobs.
Jacobs pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Souza looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Souza is nestled in close to Jacobs, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jacobs keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Jacobs manages to get to full guard.
Jacobs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Souza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jacobs utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A combination from Jacobs does no damage.
Souza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jacobs's waist but Jacobs gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Souza off to one side.
Souza is breathing heavily.
Jacobs lands with a big left! Souza is wobbled badly! Jacobs comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Souza to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mark Jacobs!
