The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frape stuffs the takedown attempt from Maia. Maia gets slowly back to his feet.
Frape really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Maia jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Frape walks away with a smile on his face. Maia gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Maia has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Frape finds it's way round the side to connect with Maia's head.

and Frape counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Maia's guard now.
Frape wants to stand and escape but instead Maia has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Maia stays in close to Frape's body and controls the position.

Frape swings around for an armbar but Maia sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Frape's guard.
