1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Santos! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body kick there by Rua. A head kick misses from Rua. A combination from Rua does no damage. Rua wants to clinch up but Santos keeps it at a distance. Santos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That was a close round but I would say that Mauricio Rua will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Santos gets the takedown into side control. Santos is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rua's shoulder. That is not cool. Santos decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rua to his feet. Mauricio Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Santos paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rua doesn't manage to clinch there - Santos circles away.

Rua moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Rua tries to keep at a distance but Santos has taken the fight into the clinch. Santos takes an elbow to the temple. Rua with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Rua tries to land knees in the clinch but Santos avoids the damage to the body. Rua connects with a nasty looking knee right to Santos's face.

Rua throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Santos blocks it with crossed arms. Santos is looking to control Rua's arms but Rua gets an underhook and turns him. Now Santos has his back to the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua landing knees to the head.

Rua tries to break free but Santos pushes him back against the cage. Santos on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Santos breaks the clinch.
Rua tries to clinch up and Santos counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Santos connects with a nice short shot to Rua's temple. Santos is looking for a kimura here.
Santos tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rua knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Rua seems a little lost for a moment, as Santos dominates the positioning. Rua gets back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Santos controlling the action here. Santos seems to be working for a kimura but Rua defends the submission attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Santos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
