Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Crews! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mir Vukovic! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crews fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vukovic avoids it really well and circles away. Vukovic scores a takedown into full mount! Vukovic wants to control the pace but Crews is squirming around nicely. Vukovic thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Crews knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vukovic on the ground. Vukovic looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Vukovic tries to control but Crews wriggling away. Vukovic sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's one minute gone in the round. Vukovic putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Crews prevents Vukovic from taking his back. Vukovic controlling the pace for now. Vukovic jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Crews manages to avoid the submission attempt. Crews wants to get back to his feet but Vukovic drags him back down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vukovic tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Vukovic is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Crews has escaped the position, nice work there. Vukovic trying to control the action but Crews is working from the bottom. Vukovic looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Crews is avoiding damage well.
Crews stops Vukovic from passing to mount. Vukovic has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Crews! Vukovic looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vukovic scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Vukovic has control of Crews's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Crews regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Crews is looking to improve his position but Vukovic isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Vukovic throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Crews because Vukovic loaded up on that one. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vukovic trying to control but Crews is having none of it. Vukovic working for a guillotine from mount but Crews is in no mood to give up. Vukovic lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vukovic goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Crews is on top in guard.
Vukovic had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Crews is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Vukovic Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Crews's back instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mir Vukovic dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Crews shoots and misses and Vukovic counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Ground and pound from Vukovic. Vukovic has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Crews avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Vukovic. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Vukovic. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Vukovic is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Crews sees it coming and defends easily. Vukovic prevents Crews from improving his position. Vukovic is trying to work for a kimura but Crews is defending well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Vukovic shoots in and drives through. Crews sprawls well. Crews misses with a takedown and Vukovic counters with a shoot takedown. Crews fights it but they end up in guard. Crews keeping moving, preventing Vukovic from controlling successfully. Vukovic passes Crews's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vukovic controlling the action here. Crews is looking for a sweep. Vukovic is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Vukovic performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Vukovic missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Vukovic shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Crews defends it nicely. Crews displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vukovic. Tom Crews has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mir Vukovic. Crews tries to close the distance and clinch but Vukovic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Crews wants to clinch up but Vukovic keeps it at a distance. Vukovic has closed the distance and engaged Crews in a clinch.

Crews defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vukovic. Crews closes the distance but Vukovic moves to the side and Vukovic counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Vukovic loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Vukovic pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crews is keeping the position for now. Mir Vukovic has got the better of the ground game so far. Vukovic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vukovic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mir Vukovic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Crews's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Vukovic shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Crews sprawls well. Crews wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vukovic gets slowly back to his feet. Crews drives through and clinches with Vukovic against the cage.

Tom Crews seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crews lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vukovic circles away quickly and effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Vukovic fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Tom Crews has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mir Vukovic. Crews fails in his attempt to clinch. Crews moves into the clinch. Vukovic is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Crews pulls him back up using the underhooks. Vukovic goes for a takedown attempt but Crews pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vukovic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Crews has escaped and now he's on top! Crews preventing the sweep. Crews stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vukovic swivels though and keeps the full guard. Vukovic not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
