The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aquino misses with a takedown attempt - Rua sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Rua leaves Aquino with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Aquino paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Aquino feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rua wants to stand and escape but Aquino is having none of it.

Aquino scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rua to see if he's OK.

Rua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aquino. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
