The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dover feints and as Gracie raises his hands in defense, Dover changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dover is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dover has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gracie clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Dover moves into range and clinches up with Gracie.
Dover is trying to trip Gracie. He has hold of a leg but Gracie is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dover persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Gracie is looking for a triangle but Dover pushes his legs off easily.

Ben Dover is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Dover got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dover has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
