Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Wallhead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Cro Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jim Wallhead!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mirko Cro Cop!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cro Cop pushes Wallhead up against the cage in a clinch.
Wallhead avoiding damage as Cro Cop throws knees to the body.
Wallhead tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cro Cop just stands there and leans against the cage.

Wallhead postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cro Cop is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wallhead, into his guard.

Wallhead looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Wallhead had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cro Cop is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wallhead Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cro Cop's back instead.

Wallhead seems to be looking for submissions.

Wallhead looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cro Cop holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cro Cop is trying to stand up here but Wallhead is controlling him well.
Wallhead is pressing down on Cro Cop's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cro Cop is holding on for now.
Wallhead is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Cro Cop wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Wallhead is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Cro Cop is surviving well by controlling Wallhead's body position as best he can.
Cro Cop really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wallhead. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wallhead avoids the attempt from Cro Cop to control.
Wallhead blocks Cro Cop's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Cro Cop keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Cro Cop wants to control but Wallhead is having none of it.
Cro Cop is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cro Cop is trying desperately to improve position.

Wallhead swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cro Cop is now in Wallhead's guard. A big mistake from Wallhead there, giving up the dominant position!

Wallhead is trying to stick to Cro Cop's back but Cro Cop is turning into Wallhead. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Wallhead's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cro Cop.
Wallhead can't keep his opponent in guard - Cro Cop advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Wallhead is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cro Cop pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mirko Cro Cop dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Cro Cop shoots in and bounces Wallhead off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cro Cop tries to stand but Wallhead is controlling from the bottom.
Wallhead manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cro Cop manages to get himself to full guard.

Wallhead drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wallhead jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wallhead passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Wallhead tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wallhead has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cro Cop wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Wallhead is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cro Cop looks calm but he's in trouble here. Wallhead gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cro Cop is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Wallhead lets go of the hold and Cro Cop can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jim Wallhead!
