The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kongo tries to close the distance and clinch but Gauthier swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gauthier looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Kongo moves out of range of the strikes.
Gauthier shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kongo defends it nicely.
Gauthier throws out a loose jab but Kongo uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kongo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Nick Gauthier has been cut.

Kongo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gauthier moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kongo scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Kongo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gauthier is still on wobbly legs! Can Kongo finish him?
Gauthier displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kongo.
Kongo connects with a nice cross there... Gauthier is looking wobbly and Kongo recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Gauthier to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Kongo jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
