Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Noli Santander!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki dives in and grabs Santander's left leg, looking for a takedown. Santander pushes down on Aoki's head and hops out.
Santander fails with an attempt to clinch.
Santander is looking to clinch.
Santander tries to close the distance and clinch but Aoki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aoki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Aoki is working for a kimura but Santander is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aoki is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Aoki wants to work for an arm triangle but Santander is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Santander is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Aoki knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Aoki for a finish.
Aoki tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Santander has hold of Aoki's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Aoki manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Santander can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Aoki is looking to escape.
Santander wants to finish this one by submission but Aoki is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Santander.

Aoki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Santander pulls his head out easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Santander looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Aoki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santander swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Santander escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aoki shoots for a double leg takedown but Santander sprawls well. He's pushed Aoki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Santander rushes Aoki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Santander lands an elbow inside that Aoki shrugs off.
Santander has Aoki pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Santander pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Aoki tumbling to the mat - Santander dives into Aoki's guard.
Aoki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Santander doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Santander manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santander stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aoki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Santander passes Aoki's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Santander stands up out of the half guard.
Santander gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Aoki to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Aoki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Santander is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Aoki, into his guard.
Aoki had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Santander is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Aoki Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Santander's back instead.
Aoki looking for the choke but no joy.
Santander turns into Aoki and is now in his guard.

Santander gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Santander doesn't manage to clinch there - Aoki circles away.
Santander wants to clinch.
Shinya Aoki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Santander throws a head kick but Aoki moves out of range.

Horrible takedown by Aoki or perhaps it was just good defense by Santander which made him look bad.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That's time! Aoki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

This one could be over very soon! Santander goes limp - he's gone! Aoki jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
