Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reece Edward Duenas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Dugre!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dugre is looking to clinch but Duenas is avoiding it.
Horrible takedown by Dugre or perhaps it was just good defense by Duenas which made him look bad.
Dugre misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dugre is looking to clinch.
Dugre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duenas swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Duenas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Duenas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Dugre is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duenas working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Dugre wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Duenas wants to control the pace but Dugre is squirming around nicely.
Duenas misses with a head shot.

Duenas tries to control but Dugre wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Duenas moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Dugre has worked his arm free - good work by Dugre!
Duenas sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dugre is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Duenas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Duenas works to advance to full mount. Dugre defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Duenas working for a submission but Dugre is keeping him at bay.

Duenas controlling his opponent.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Duenas trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Duenas controlling the pace for now.
Dugre squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Duenas looking to control but Dugre is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dugre has given up his back here. Will Duenas look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Dugre is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Duenas gets his way!

Duenas is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Dugre is defending well though. Duenas let's go of the attempt for now.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dugre wants to clinch up but Duenas keeps it at a distance.

Duenas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Duenas wants to pass the guard but Dugre is keeping the position.

Duenas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dugre is keeping the position for now.
Duenas slips nicely into half guard.
Duenas wants to take a breather but Dugre is having none of it.
Dugre really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duenas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dugre tries to kick Duenas off but Duenas keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Duenas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dugre doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Duenas.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Duenas trying to control the action but Dugre is working from the bottom.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Reece Edward Duenas just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Dugre has closed the distance and engaged Duenas in a clinch.

Dugre's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dugre moves in looking to clinch but Duenas pushes him off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dugre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Duenas but Duenas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Duenas shoots in for a takedown but Dugre shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Reece Edward Duenas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Duenas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Duenas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dugre looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Duenas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dugre as he jumps to the side.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Duenas scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Duenas working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Duenas has hold of Dugre's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Dugre seems comfortable defending it but Duenas has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Dugre is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Dugre is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Duenas couldn't care less - he's delighted!
