Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and God Shamgod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). God Shamgod has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrei Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, God Shamgod!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko looks for a takedown but Shamgod sprawls well.
Emelianenko wants to clinch up but Shamgod keeps it at a distance.

Shamgod pushes Emelianenko up against the cage in a clinch.
Shamgod missing with knees to the body.
Shamgod fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Emelianenko manages to break the clinch.
Emelianenko tries to clinch but Shamgod moves away

and Shamgod counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shamgod connects with a nice short shot to Emelianenko's temple.
Shamgod works his foot free and advances to mount.
Emelianenko wants to hold on but Shamgod pushes him away.

Shamgod is looking to work his way around to Emelianenko's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Shamgod looking to control but Emelianenko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Emelianenko is desperately trying to improve his position but Shamgod has a good base and remains in mount.
Shamgod takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Emelianenko is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Emelianenko sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Emelianenko tries to lock up and control but Shamgod gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Shamgod can't control as he wanted to and Emelianenko manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Shamgod prevents Emelianenko from improving his position.
Shamgod is looking to take a break and control but Emelianenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Shamgod is trying to control the action in half guard but Emelianenko is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Emelianenko pushes Shamgod off looking to stand but Shamgod dives back in and keeps control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Shamgod throws a head kick but Emelianenko moves out of range.
Emelianenko fails with the takedown.
Emelianenko is breathing heavily.
Shamgod tries to work over Emelianenko's front leg with a kick but Emelianenko checks it.

Emelianenko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Shamgod trying to control the position from guard on top but Emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shamgod wants to get up but he can't break Emelianenko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Emelianenko has his feet on Shamgod's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

God Shamgod dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Shamgod counters with a takedown into side control.
Emelianenko gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Shamgod content to control rather than advance.
Shamgod wants to take a breather but Emelianenko is having none of it.
Shamgod is breathing heavily.
Emelianenko is trying to maintain the position but Shamgod is very close to passing his half guard.

Emelianenko has one foot on Shamgod's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
God Shamgod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shamgod avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Emelianenko counters with a takedown into side control.

Emelianenko tries for a kimura but Shamgod is defending well.

Shamgod uses his free foot to push down on Emelianenko's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Emelianenko.

Shamgod trying to mount his opponent but Emelianenko defends it.
Shamgod thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Emelianenko's head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Emelianenko is looking to improve his position.
Emelianenko is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Emelianenko is working to get back to half guard.

Emelianenko defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Shamgod.

Shamgod jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Emelianenko is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Emelianenko and Shamgod has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Andrei Emelianenko will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Emelianenko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shamgod is fending him off so far but Emelianenko persists. Nope, Shamgod circles away and we're back to standing.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Shamgod, right into the meat.

and Shamgod counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and Emelianenko counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Emelianenko.
Shamgod has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Emelianenko avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Emelianenko wants to stall.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Emelianenko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Shamgod tries for a takedown but Emelianenko sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Andrei Emelianenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of God Shamgod.
Emelianenko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Shamgod moves into the clinch.
Shamgod prevents Emelianenko from breaking the clinch.
Emelianenko tries to break the clinch but Shamgod is controlling the position.
Shamgod has Emelianenko pushed against the cage.
Shamgod tries to pull guard but Emelianenko holds him up against the cage and eventually Shamgod drops back down to his feet.

Shamgod breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Emelianenko throws a combination that misses
and Shamgod counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Shamgod fails with the takedown

and Emelianenko counters by moving into the clinch.

Emelianenko is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Shamgod can't fight it off and eventually Emelianenko manages to take the fight to the floor. Shamgod looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Shamgod has his hands on Emelianenko's head, controlling the position.
Shamgod controls Emelianenko momentarily but Emelianenko frees himself.
Shamgod wants to sweep here but Emelianenko controlling him for the moment.

Emelianenko's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Shamgod is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Shamgod is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Emelianenko stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Emelianenko looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Shamgod tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Andrei Emelianenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Emelianenko gets the takedown into side control.

Emelianenko stands up.
Emelianenko throws a series of punches but Shamgod avoids them all with ease.

And that's the end of the fight!
Andrei Emelianenko showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Emelianenko has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
