Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Almeida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julius Jenkins! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Almeida swats him away and circles back towards the center. Almeida fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Almeida moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Jenkins slaps away a takedown attempt from Almeida, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jenkins shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Almeida is trying to defend but Jenkins finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Almeida actively working from the bottom here. Jenkins wants to stand but Almeida has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Almeida has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jenkins is working away from the top position though. Jenkins wants to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Almeida stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Almeida wants it to stay on the feet. Almeida with a poor takedown and Jenkins holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Almeida. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jenkins pulls guard. Almeida is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Almeida will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Almeida thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jenkins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Almeida is controlling him. Almeida is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jenkins is looking to stand up but Almeida isn't so interested in that idea. Almeida trying to control but Jenkins is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Almeida tries for a takedown but Jenkins circles away easily and Jenkins decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Almeida's guard. Jenkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Almeida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Almeida bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jenkins's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Almeida won't allow Jenkins to get back to his feet. Almeida postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jenkins is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Almeida, into his guard. Almeida looking for a guillotine here but Jenkins defends easily.
Jenkins wants to stand but Almeida has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Almeida on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Almeida tries to get out of the position. Almeida looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Almeida is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jenkins defends well. Jenkins wants to stand but Almeida is controlling his posture from full guard. Almeida has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jenkins should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Almeida has tightened it up now! Jenkins should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
