PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sarkis Terteryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jobo Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terteryan comes into the arena with Smashing Pumpkins-Bullet With Butterfly Wings blaring out of the sound system. Scott comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Stronger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Sarkis Terteryan has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sarkis Terteryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jobo Scott!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terteryan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scott.
Scott slips a jab and a cross from Terteryan.

Scott scores a takedown into full mount!

Scott working for a guillotine from mount but Terteryan is in no mood to give up.
Terteryan is trying to stand.
Scott wants to control the pace but Terteryan is squirming around nicely.
Terteryan is looking to get to half guard.

Scott working for a submission but Terteryan is keeping him at bay.
Terteryan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Terteryan is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Scott with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Terteryan is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott tries to control but Terteryan wriggling away.
Scott might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Terteryan kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Scott avoids the attempt from Terteryan to control.
Terteryan tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Scott wants to finish this one by submission but Terteryan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Scott.
Terteryan is trying to escape the mount.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Scott jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Terteryan manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Scott tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Scott looks gassed!

Scott working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Terteryan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Terteryan wants to improve his position but Scott is controlling well.

Scott is working for a kimura but Terteryan is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are battling for position here. Terteryan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Terteryan has his feet on Scott's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Terteryan misses with a leg kick.

Scott closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Scott is thwarting Terteryan's attempts to control the position.
Scott wants to advance to full mount but Terteryan doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Terteryan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Scott thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Scott pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Terteryan is keeping the position for now.
Scott is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Terteryan looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Terteryan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Terteryan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Scott closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Scott shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Scott is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Terteryan!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jobo Scott dominated that round.
That's time! Terteryan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Scott bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Scott is working to tighten is grip on Terteryan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Terteryan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Scott is really squeezing tight and eventually Terteryan passes out! Scott breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jobo Scott!
