Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vincini Rossini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Hillier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vincini Rossini has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vincini Rossini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Hillier!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rossini tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hillier paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rossini cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


It looks like Jeff Hillier has been cut.
Hillier is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Rossini controlling the pace for now.

Rossini swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hillier is now in Rossini's guard. A big mistake from Rossini there, giving up the dominant position!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hillier postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rossini is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hillier, into his guard.
Rossini tries to free his leg and advance position but Hillier is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hillier has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rossini off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Rossini takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Vincini Rossini has been cut.
Hillier tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rossini paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rossini drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hillier takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Hillier tries to buck Rossini off but he can't manage it.
Rossini lands a nice shot to the head.
Hillier trying desperately to get to his feet.

Rossini has hold of Hillier's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hillier manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Rossini won't let Hillier get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hillier is squirming around, avoiding Rossini's attempts to control the action.
Rossini throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Rossini looking to ground and pound but Hillier is blocking nicely.
Rossini sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Rossini looking to control but Hillier is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hillier's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rossini cracks Hillier with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vincini Rossini dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hillier throws a series of punches but Rossini moves out of range.

Hillier moves into the clinch.

Come on Hillier - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Rossini presses Hillier against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Hillier breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hillier will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hillier is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rossini shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hillier but Hillier pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hillier throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Rossini pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hillier tries to clinch but Rossini moves out of range.

and Rossini counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hillier!
Hillier is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Rossini lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Rossini is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hillier sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hillier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rossini swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hillier drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hillier jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vincini Rossini.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rossini, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
