Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Currie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Albert Desalvo! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Currie throws an overhand right that lands on Desalvo's shoulder, as Desalvo tries to avoid the shot. Currie connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Desalvo has a takedown stuffed. Desalvo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Currie looks to throw the jab but Desalvo is out of range. A telegraphed right hand from Currie misses the target. No joy there for Currie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Desalvo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Currie pinned against the cage. Currie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Currie looks to land a right hand but Desalvo moved out of range. Currie misses with an uppercut. Desalvo saw that one coming. Desalvo shoots in and drives through. Currie sprawls well. David Currie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Albert Desalvo. Desalvo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Currie fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Desalvo slips under a jab from Currie. David Currie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Currie lands with a straight right. Desalvo didn't see that one coming. Desalvo ducks under a wild hook from Currie.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Currie scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Nice body punch from Currie. Currie slaps away a takedown attempt from Desalvo, before circling back to the center of the mat. Desalvo tries to clinch up but Currie circles away and keeps his distance. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Currie throws a hook to the side of Desalvo's head but Desalvo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Currie connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Desalvo on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Currie moves out of range of the strikes. Currie misses with a straight right. Currie scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Currie throws a series of punches but Desalvo moves out of range. Currie moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Desalvo dodges the punch combination from Currie.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Desalvo might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Currie has got the better of the exchanges.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Currie does no damage. Currie lands with a nice body punch. Desalvo ducks under a wild hook from Currie. Desalvo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Desalvo blocks a jab. David Currie is winning the standup battle so far. Currie fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Desalvo checks it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Currie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Desalvo was well out of range. Poor timing from Currie. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Desalvo is defended easily by Currie. Currie defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Desalvo. Currie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Desalvo sees it coming and avoids it easily. Desalvo shoots for a double leg takedown but Currie sprawls well. He's pushed Desalvo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. David Currie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Albert Desalvo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Currie moves forwards but Desalvo connects with a nice, crisp jab. Currie lands a nice looking body shot.
Jab, jab by Currie - just one landing. Currie goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Currie is looking to chop away at Desalvo's legs. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Desalvo. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Currie throws a nice looking combination but Desalvo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Currie misses with a straight left. Desalvo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Currie struggling a bit here. The strikes coming from Desalvo are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Currie tries to bench press Desalvo off him but Desalvo keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Currie struggling a bit here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

And that's the end of the fight! David Currie showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Currie, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
