Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaska Hauis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jaska Hauis! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hauis checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hauis is looking to clinch. A chopping leg kick lands by Hauis. Hauis tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it. Hauis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Some wild striking there from Hauis.
Hauis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A big right from Smith misses. Smith could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hauis stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hauis tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hauis, right into the meat.

It looks like Tom Smith has been cut. Smith is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hauis is looking to stand up but Smith won't let him. Oh Smith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Hauis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hauis won't allow Smith to sweep him here. Hauis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Smith has a closed guard, preventing Hauis from standing up. Hauis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Smith seems to have got his legs back now. Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hauis is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Hauis circles away and we're back to standing. Hauis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hauis stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet. Hauis fails in his attempt to clinch. Smith blocks a head kick by Hauis.
Good leg kick by Hauis there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hauis shoots in but no luck this time. Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jaska Hauis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Hauis. Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hauis tries for a takedown but Smith circles away easily and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard. Smith drops back looking for a leg! Hauis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hauis manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Hauis's guard. Hauis keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Hauis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hauis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hauis wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Smith manages to pass to side control. Smith prevents Hauis from standing back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hauis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Smith is looking to take a break and control but Hauis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hauis is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Smith is controlling him well. Smith tries for a kimura but Hauis is defending well. Hauis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Smith has just dragged him back down to the mat. Smith cracks Hauis with a big elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith cracks Hauis with a big elbow. Smith tries to advance to mount but can't. Smith landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Smith cracks Hauis with a big elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hauis wants to get back to his feet but Smith drags him back down. Hauis parries the strikes from Smith easily there. Smith is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hauis to escape.
Hauis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Smith has just dragged him back down to the mat. Smith controlling from side mount. Hauis tries to escape but Smith is in control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hauis throws a head kick that misses. Hauis tries to clinch but fails miserably and Smith counters with a single leg into guard. Hauis didn't expect that. Hauis wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith forces his way into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Hauis's temple. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hauis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hauis pushes Smith off looking to stand but Smith dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tom Smith will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Tom Smith's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hauis throws a leg kick but Smith sees it coming and checks it nicely. Hauis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hauis finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. A head kick misses from Hauis. Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hauis! You get the feeling that Hauis really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Smith looking to control but Hauis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hauis is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Smith tries to control but Hauis wriggling away. Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hauis in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smith won't let Hauis get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Smith landing shots from mount.

Smith throws some wild stikes that Hauis manages to avoid easily.
Smith misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Smith won't let Hauis get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Smith looking to ground and pound but Hauis is blocking nicely. Smith landing punches. Smith has control of Hauis's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hauis regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Tom Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Smith in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Smith looking to control but Hauis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hauis taking shots to the head. Smith tries to control but Hauis wriggling away. Smith landing shots from mount. Smith looking to isolate an arm here. Hauis doesn't see it coming and as Smith extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Smith!
